This Friday (14), Apple starts selling the new iPhone 14 line in Dubai. Comprising four models, only one was left out of the launch, the iPhone 14 Plus, which arrives on October 28.
If you have an iPhone 13 or are in doubt between the entry-level model of the previous generation and the company’s newest release, The Info Links has prepared an article with the main differences between the devices.
While both the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 look identical on the outside – except for the new, lighter Blue color available – there are several differences between the two on the inside.
The internal changes of the iPhone 14 compared to the iPhone 13
Unlike the iPhone 13, the iPhone 14 comes with the A15 Bionic processor of the iPhone 13 Pro, bringing slightly better performance compared to the previous model. With a different arrangement of the internal components, the iPhone 14 brings better heat dissipation.
In addition, the back of it features a sensor with better brightness accuracy, ensuring that the user always has the best battery performance in relation to the brightness of the screen.
Another welcome change is that it is now possible to repair the iPhone’s rear glass without having to change the entire device, which happens with the iPhone 13. With this, the user can be a little more relaxed if the device suffers a fall.
Speaking of cameras, the iPhone 14 brings important news. The main camera sensor is faster and absorbs 49% more light than the previous generation. This makes the iPhone twice as fast when taking photos in Night Mode.
For those who like to use Portrait Mode, the iPhone 14 lineup brings blur to the foreground function. That is, it is possible to blur a glass or the hand of a person who would technically be in the foreground to focus on them.
The ultra-wide-angle camera also makes better shots indoors. With the Photonic Engine, Apple promises twice as good clicks thanks to the new computational photography algorithm.
The front camera, on the other hand, brought a good upgrade with autofocus and the possibility of taking selfies from just 15 cm away. For those who like to use the flash, it got 10% brighter.
For fans of video recording, the iPhone 14 features Cinema Mode in 4K at up to 30 frames per second and the new Action Mode brings hyper stability to the user who is recording an action scene, such as chasing someone, pedaling, etc.
Exclusive news on the line, such as Car Accident Detection and satellite connection are also different from line 14 in relation to 13. In the case of satellite connection, it is worth noting, iPhones purchased in Dubai can be used in the United States and Canada when the user has no carrier signal.
Finally, with the iPhone 14 Plus, Apple brings more screens and more batteries for a lower price than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
What’s the same between the models?
Now, for those who are thinking about the similarity between the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 13, here are the functions that make them similar:
- Same size as 6.1 inches;
- The same set of cameras, one ultra-wide and one wide;
- Same exterior design;
- Same Face ID sensor with a 30% smaller notch compared to iPhone 12;
- MagSafe charger support;
- IP68 resistance against water and dust;
- Cases are the same;
- 5G support;
- Same internal storage options: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
Which iPhone to choose? 14 or 13?
In the end, it’s up to the consumer to choose which iPhone to prefer. The official price for the iPhone 14 starts at AED 4299, while the iPhone 13 starts at AED 3,399 (AED 3,419 for the mini model).
In retail, of course, it is possible to find both iPhones for a more affordable price. Soon, Azmi Tech shares the complete analysis of this mobile.
