The Covid-19 pandemic has changed how people collaborate in the world of work today and the future. Society faces the era of remote work and calls for maintaining distance between employees.

Although not all companies apply these rules, short working hours are certainly the desire of many people, such as in countries with the shortest working hours.

Short working hours have long been the rule in some countries—various factors influence them, such as differences in work culture, labor regulations, to the wage factor. 

Analysis from the Organization for Economic Corporation and Development (OECD) shows that if you want the best place to get a work-life balance, work is in Northern Europe.

Based on Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, working time in Indonesia is generally 40 hours per week with the following details.

1. 7 hours of work in 1 day and 40 hours of work in a week for six days of work in a week, or

2. 8 hours of work in 1 day and 40 hours of work in a week for five days of work in a week

For the record, these working time rules do not apply to certain business sectors or jobs. 

The implementation of working hours for workers/laborers in the company is regulated in work agreements, company regulations, or cooperation agreements.
